Sassari, sabato mattina. Una giovane donna 25enne, Alessia, incinta di cinque settimane, avverte dei dolori e accusa delle perdite. Chiede al marito Enzo, 51 anni, di portarla urgentemente al pronto soccorso di Ginecologia e Ostetricia dell'Ospedale San Pietro di Sassari. E' da cinque anni che attendono di avere un bimbo, e sono nell'angoscia. «Mia moglie ha avvertito un forte dolore addominale – racconta Enzo all'Adnkronos - Era incinta da non meno di 5 settimane, il secondo test l'aveva fatto una settimana prima. Ha sentito il medico e dato che aveva delle piccolissime perdite lui le ha consigliato di andare al Pronto Soccorso». All'entrata la coppia viene accolta da un'ostetrica ma, nel racconto dell'uomo, le cose appaiono da subito molto complicate. «Al piano terra c'è una sorta di triage, un'ostetrica filtra le varie visite. Ha accolto mia moglie bardata di tutto punto, con tenuta anti Covid. Ha chiesto cosa avesse e Alessia le ha spiegato che aveva mal di pancia e perdite, e che era alla quinta settimana di gravidanza», spiega Enzo. L'ostetrica le chiede il super green pass che la giovane, vaccinata con due dosi e già prenotata per la terza, esibisce. L'ostetrica a quel punto richiude la porta e li fa aspettare «venti minuti, dicendo che si era dimenticata», racconta l'uomo. Quindi sale «al quarto piano per chiedere cosa fare» e, quando scende, chiede se la donna abbia eseguito un tampone molecolare, presentato come requisito essenziale per poter procedere alla visita. «Era sabato, non sapevamo nemmeno che dovesse essere necessario ed eravamo nell'angoscia più totale -ricorda l'uomo con voce rotta- Abbiamo chiesto cosa potessimo fare, ma era di sabato, in ospedale non eseguivano i tamponi e ci hanno detto che dovevamo tornare lunedì». La coppia insiste, ma non c'è verso. «Ha detto a mia moglie che se non riusciva a gestire i dolori doveva prendere una tachipirina e tornare il lunedì», si sfoga l'uomo. Una volta fuori dall'ospedale, succede l'inimmaginabile. «Sono passato a prenderla in macchina, e l'ho trovata piegata in due dai dolori», racconta, e «le perdite sono diventate copiose: si capiva che non ci fosse più niente da fare, e una volta a casa abbiamo capito che aveva abortito». I due sassaresi sono sconvolti e sotto choc. «Vogliamo far sentire il nostro dolore, è una cosa indegna, non capisco cosa avrei dovuto fare -si lamenta il marito di Alessia- E se avesse avuto il Covid cosa avrebbero fatto, non l'avrebbero visitata? Chi ti da l'onnipotenza di decidere se mio figlio deve morire perché non abbiamo un molecolare? Non si lasciano morire delle persone nei parcheggi dell'ospedale, mia moglie è stata lasciata andare con dolori atroci, come un cane, è gravissimo». «Noi non vogliamo soldi né risarcimenti, non vorremmo fare nemmeno queste interviste perché stiamo malissimo, non puntiamo il dito su nessuno ma vogliamo che queste cose non succedano mai più. Queste cose non devono più succedere», scandisce l'uomo. La direzione dell'Aou di Sassari è intervenuta sulla vicenda con una nota nella tarda serata di ieri, con la quale annuncia l'intenzione di avviare verifiche interne: «La direzione strategica ha richiesto alle strutture aziendali di riferimento l'avvio di un audit interno con tutti i soggetti interessati perché si possa fare chiarezza su quanto sia effettivamente avvenuto. Siamo dispiaciuti per quanto accaduto alla signora», dice la direzione. La coppia, dal canto suo, agirà per vie legali. «Sto predisponendo una denuncia querela che verrà depositata al più presto -dice all'Adnkronos l'avvocato Gabriele Sechi, che segue il caso dei due coniugi- Tra oggi e domani la depositerò». Per il legale «non si può accettare il fatto che una persona, dopo aver aspettato venti minuti al triage di un pronto soccorso, per essere visitata debba fare un tampone molecolare, per il quale non si hanno subito i risultati. Non voglio pensare che sia la prassi o il protocollo perché altrimenti nessuno potrebbe essere visitato nell'immediato». E conclude secco: «I miei assistiti non sono interessati ai denari. Ma qui c'è stata un'assurda incompetenza, e deve essere accertata dalla magistratura».

Teen perpetrator of sexual assault in girls' bathroom ordered to register as sex offender
The teenage perpetrator of multiple sexual assaults at two high schools has been ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and undergo rehabilitation until he reaches adulthood. The Daily Wire first reported on the sexual assault of a teenage girl committed at the hands of “a boy allegedly wearing a skirt” in a girls’ bathroom at Stone Bridge High School on May 28. Shortly thereafter, news broke that the perpetrator of the May 28 attack assaulted another girl at Broad Run High School. According to NBC News' Washington affiliate, the student was ordered to remain in a “locked residential treatment facility, where he will undergo rehabilitation and therapy until his 18th birthday.”

Gallup reveals religious donations remain at all-time low
A new survey from Gallup reveals that the share of Americans who have donated to religious organizations remains at an all-time low, even as the percentage of Americans that donated to charitable organizations overall increased. The survey showed that 44% of respondents donated money to a religious organization in 2021, which is the same figure as reported in 2020. Gallup attributes the decline in donations to religious organizations to the decline in formal church membership, noting that 44% of U.S. adults closely aligns with "the 47% who belong to a church, synagogue, mosque or temple.”

Congregations leave Reformed Church amid LGBT debate
After months of preparation, a theologically conservative denomination has broken away from the Reformed Church in America, with 43 congregations joining the new body on New Year’s Day. George O. Wood, former Assemblies of God leader, dies
George O. Wood, the former general superintendent of the Assemblies of God who saw the denomination grow considerably at a time when most religious groups in the United States were in decline, passed away from cancer at age 80. Doug Clay, Assemblies of God’s current general superintendent, said in a statement Wood “had tremendous intellect” but “never depended on that at the expense of being led by the Spirit.”
